Evelyn Anke is an international artist working in Israel, known for her works that address identity, power, and femininity, and their ability to stimulate dialogue between cultures.
In her work "Bring the Lion back it's Pride" she looks at the lion as a symbol of strength, spirit and connection to tradition alongside what man makes of it: a product. It is a call to restore nature's pride and raise awareness for lion conservation and against the legal hunting of lions in South Africa, which results in the export of approximately 800 carcasses every year.
The work is offered for sale as part of the " Artists for Marine Mammals" project of the Delphis Association, dedicated to the protection of marine mammals in Israel and the promotion of marine education at the "Dolphin and Sea Center" in Ashdod.
