Liza Gonen is an Israeli artist specializing in watercolors, known for her poetic paintings of animals and nature. Through her animal images, she explores human emotions and traits, creating a deep connection between humans and nature. As part of the special " Artists for Marine Mammals " fundraising sale, Gonen chose to put a work up for sale - an artistic contribution to the continued activities of the Delphis Association for the protection of marine mammals in Israel.
"In this painting, I aspired to capture the noble presence of the whale, one of the greatest symbols of marine mammals. The blue spots, movement, and flow seek to echo the ancient poetry of the ocean depths - a poetry that reminds us of how essential these magnificent animals are to the health of the sea and the world at large. The painting aims to illuminate the beauty and fragility of life in the depths, and to remind us of our shared responsibility to preserve them for future generations," says the artist.
