Nature and landscape photographer Matthias Schick joined the Delfis Association right when the organization was established to train the association's volunteers as marine surveyors, in late summer 2024. Since then, her important photographs, which documented dolphins on our research cruises, have been featured on news sites and made headlines.
Schick, who specializes in photography from light aircraft and helicopters, was able to document the salt pools in the Dead Sea from a bird's eye view, which despite the nickname attached to it - appear to be full of life here. The work - part painting, part photo - is now being offered for sale as part of Delfis' "Artists for Marine Mammals" project, which is intended to ensure the continued activity of the association for the preservation and protection of marine mammals in Israel, and to educate the next generation to love the sea at the "Dolphin and Sea Center" educational center in Ashdod.
